AMERICAN CETACEAN SOCIETY- LOS ANGELES CHAPTER

This grop was one of our earliest allies in our effort to save the vaquita. They are one of the oldest cetacean-focused groups in the United States, and they conduct an annual whale census of Pacific Gray Whales migrating off of the California Coast on their way to Mexico.

LOS SERENOS DE POINT VICENTE


A longtime ally of our organization, this volunteer group assists the city of Rancho Palos Verdes with the Point Vicente Interpretive Center; this group also leads nature hikes in the local area. We will be holding a special event there on July 6 as part of our Nationwide Save the Vaquita Day.

CABRILLO MARINE AQUARIUM

 

One of the top research aquariums in the United States, this aquarium has given us many opportunities to help the vaquita. We have held four vaquita awareness tables at the aquarium, with almost 800 visitors total. In addition, we will be holding a special event there on July 6 as part of our Nationwide Save the Vaquita Day, in partnership with Viva Vaquita and ACS-LA

Situated next to the pristine aquamarine waters of Waikiki, this aquarium chronicles the abundant wildlife of Hawaii's seas. We will be holding a special event there on July 6 as part of our Nationwide Save the Vaquita Day, in partnership with NOAA's Dolphin SMART program.
