International Save the Vaquita Day is Coming!
The Fourth International Save the Vaquita Day is coming on July 9, 2016! This event is dedicated to raising public awareness and support for the endangered vaquita porpoise, which is the world's most endangered marine mammal. Muskwa created this event as National Save the Vaquita Day in 2013, and it has expanded each succeeding year, with the involvement of many allied organizations, particularly the members of the VIVA Vaquita Coalition and participating aquariums. This year, Muskwa will be hosting or supporting venues in La Paz, Mexico; New Delhi, India; the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Illinois, USA; the Waikiki Aquarium in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA; the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in Los Angeles, California, USA; the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California, USA; the Point Vicente Interpretive Center in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, USA; and the Aquarium of the Bay in San Francisco, California, USA.
